ABOUT GEORGINA

I have been working with packaging, print publications, brochures, illustration and photography since the 60s. It is a passion to create visual imagery. My first real job was working at the U.S Government Printing Office as a clerk-typist. I worked in the Letterpress, Gravure and Engraving Departments. I learned quite a bit about printing - the old-fashioned way.
I enjoy the study of light, both natural and artificial sources. And, I find great fascination in the whole process of creating a finished image. I began using a camera when I was in middle school, and processed my own film by the time I was in college. I spent many hours in the dark room, and enjoyed every result. I painstakingly worked with black and white solarizations and reticulations, creating images that fascinated the viewer.
Then came digital and computers. Photoshop was originally designed for graphic artists. It gave us the ability to create digital knockouts, scale our images through scans, and avoid hiring airbrush retouchers prior to pre-press. Presenting the best of a product, company or business is oftentimes elevated through design, photography and illustration.
Working in Photography and Illustration for clients is a pleasure. But, I also enjoy artistically creative imagery. Albeit animal, vegetable or mineral - I study the beauty of the object and the light. I always try to have a camera with me. And, some form of telephony.
